TAG never win someone said. Fred and others warned me about using Pokertracker stats to vary my starting hands. I have 46,000 hands in my FT at 1/2 - I won $1,800 with the hands that I played EP (4-6). $1,556 of that came from raising first in.
Lee Jones hands for EP I would have won $1,100. So, my looseness netted me $700 in the short run. This comes from raising first in with hands not on the LJ starting list.
Calling with these hands is not good but raising first in does seem to make a profit.
$470 was made when I raised first in and there was no flop. $225 of that was Lee Jones EP raising hands. JJ+, AJs+, AQo+
There seems to be some merit to raising first in with marginal hands but not calling a limper.
I think that I am naturally aggressive and if I am first in I try to raise 100% of the time with cards that I want to play (95%). If I could not raise first in I folded the marginal hands but 5% I limp with premium hands.
Marginal EP hands raise first in.
88+, A9s+, KJs+, Q9s+, J9s+ ~~~ KJo+
As Fred and others warned me this might come back to bit me in the rear.
Calling 1 bet EP hands are TT-99, KQs, KJs, ATs and KQo - I did that 53 times.
